NEET PG 2026 cut the paper to 180 questions and was held in a single shift on 30 August 2026, with a re-exam on 5 September for candidates at two Jaipur centres hit by a power failure. Results came as raw scores on 24 September. A petition seeking disclosure of the actual questions is reported to be before the Supreme Court. We found no public release of the question paper.

Overview

What happened in NEET PG 2026

NBEMS set a tentative date of 30 August 2026 in January, and opened applications on 1 July 2026. The bulletin cut the paper from 200 questions to 180, in five time-bound sections of 36 questions, and asked candidates to choose three preferred test states instead of cities, the first being the state of their correspondence address.

The exam was held on 30 August 2026 from 9:00 AM to 12:30 PM in a single shift. At two test centres in Sitapura, Jaipur, candidates could not finish because of an internal power failure that NBEMS attributed to the exam's conducting agency; they were re-examined on 5 September 2026. NBEMS's result notice refers to both question papers, the main exam and the re-exam, and says no question in either was found technically incorrect.

NBEMS declared the result on 24 September 2026, with raw scores and ranks based on actual marks. On 1 October it said candidates could see, in their own login, section-wise question IDs, the correct option number, their response and the score for each question. It does not show the questions.

That disclosure is now reported to be under challenge. LiveLaw reported on 15 October 2026 that the Supreme Court had that day issued notice on a writ petition by the Democratic Medical Association, which challenges NBEMS's 1 October notice for disclosing only question IDs and numerical answers, and had tagged it with other pending petitions. LiveLaw (2 November 2026) reported that on 2 November the Court directed NBEMS to file written submissions explaining why disclosure of the questions may not compromise the exam's integrity, and adjourned the matter. Medical Dialogues (3 November 2026) reported a direction to file written submissions explaining why NEET-PG question papers should not be disclosed along with answer keys after the examination. Bar & Bench (2 November 2026) reported that the Court asked NBEMS to explain its insistence on limited disclosure. No order to disclose the questions, no final decision and no next date were reported in the coverage we found. We could not access the Court's own records. This summarises news reports of ongoing proceedings; it is not legal advice.

Labels used on this page: Official = an NBEMS document; Reported = a news report; Unverified = not confirmed in either. Court reporting is labelled Reported with its publication date; it describes proceedings, not a ruling. Paper status

NEET PG 2026 paper and answer record status

There is no NEET PG 2026 question paper or public answer document to download, as far as we could find. Revisable does not offer recall-based versions.

  • None found

Complete question papers (exam and re-exam)

We found no public release of either 2026 paper in NBEMS's notices. The 2026 bulletin describes the exam content as confidential, proprietary and owned by NBEMS, but that alone does not prove a paper was never released. A petition seeking disclosure of the actual questions is reported to be before the Supreme Court.

Not available — no public release found in NBEMS's records.

  • Official

    Question-wise record in candidate login

NBEMS's notice of 1 October 2026, titled "Scorecard and Answer Key of NEET-PG 2026", says each candidate can see section-wise question IDs for their own set, whether they answered, the correct option number (1–4), their response and the score (4, −1 or 0) for each question. It does not show the questions.

Not available — candidate login only; not a public download.

What 2026 shows

What NEET PG 2026 changed for later candidates

  1. Fewer questions, the same time

With 180 questions in five 42-minute sections, each section has 36 questions, 70 seconds per question. Practise at that pace rather than the 200-question pace of 2021–2025.

  2. Scores out of 720

Because the maximum fell from 800 to 720, 2026 scores and cut-offs cannot be compared directly with earlier years. Compare percentiles rather than raw scores.
